Birthday Looks 🎂

It's my party, and I'll wear what I want to!

Today is my 28th birthday! I can’t believe it… I feel like I just turned 27. Maybe it’s because 2020 didn’t allow me to live my 27th year to its fullest potential and should just be scrapped as a year in our history books anyways. All in agreement, say I!!! I have an idea… Why don’t we call this birthday my 27th part two? DEAL! In all seriousness, another year around the sun and what a year it’s been. I’ve learned more about myself than I ever thought I would. I’ve been tested, I’ve made discoveries, I’ve become a dog mom, and I’ve grown in so many ways, so for that I am thankful.

If you were to tell me back in March 2020 that I would be celebrating my next birthday in a province-wide lockdown due to the pandemic, I would tell you you’re crazy. YET HERE WE ARE. 🙃  No, definitely not my ideal birthday celebration but the sooner we put in the work, do our part, and wear a freakin’ mask, the sooner all of us Capricorn babies can celebrate with our friends and family the right way! ♑

When it comes to my birthday, I believe whole-heartedly that it is your day to SHINE. Therefore, you should wear whatever the hell YOU want. Wear whatever makes you feel good, it’s your day after all. I always end up wearing something a little extra just because I can. Take a look at some birthday outfit ideas I have for this year:

Typically I like to either wear fun colours, funky patterns, or chic and sleek on my birthday. Depending on how you celebrate your birthday, your outfit will definitely change. I can tell you right now that even though I will be staying in my apartment, ordering in, and drinking some wine, I will still put some effort into my outfit for at least part of the day. I can’t commit to dressing up for the whole day because that’s just a wild thought, considering I haven’t been dressed up for longer than three hours since the start of the pandemic. But hey, nothing wrong with ending your day in sweatpants.

The fun thing about planning birthday outfits is that there aren’t really any rules – except for capri pants. Those are never okay unless you are Hilary Duff as Lizze McGuire, then I’ll MAYBE let it slide. MAYBE. I love me a black-on-black fit, but equally love a super fun and vibrant fit as well. Whatever you choose, have fun with it… add feathers, lace, sparkles, leather, velvet, and bright hues where you can. You can’t go all out every day, so use your birthday as that day to do it!

Sending birthday love to all of those celebrating in lockdown as well. 💖  Cheers to 28!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love!
