2022 Goals 💭

2022 Goals 💭

New year, better me! The first year I have set measurable goals for myself.

Hello 2022! Jeez, that feels so weird to say. My first blog post of the new year. I apologize for the lack of posts recently. If you read my last blog, you would know that this year didn’t exactly start on the right foot for me. My whole fam and I caught COVID… dun, dun dunnnnn. As did the rest of the province it seems. But we are all good (thankfully), it just means that my whole “new year, new me” vibe only started this week instead of the actual first week of the year. No problem! 😅

TBH, I’m not really one for intense new year’s resolutions. Don’t get me wrong, I totally think the new year is a great time to reset and restart, but you can also reset at the beginning of each month or the start of each week too. Whatever works for you! But what I do like about using the new year as your starting point for something new is for a big shift in mindset and goal setting. It’s a great length of time to measure growth.

I’ve created 10 goals for myself for the year of 2022. Why am I posting it here for y’all to see? Because I want to document this for ME. I want to be able to look back at this blog post 365 days from now and see how far I’ve come. I’m the type of person that is so incredibly hard on myself (something I’m working on) and because of this, I find it easier to not set goals because then there is no chance in letting myself down if I don’t achieve them in my timeframe. Weird, I know. Brains are a complicated place to be sometimes. Well, more like all the time.

So, here are my 10 goals for 2020:

1)

Start my own business. I don’t want to share TOO much of what this would entail right now but I just know in my heart that I’m meant to be a business owner. My parents own their own business and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do but have been too scared to actually go for it. Hint – perhaps something fashion related… 😏

2)

Reduce eating out/ordering in to once a week. This is a hard one living in the city with SO many good food options everywhere you look. I want to challenge myself in the kitchen and grow my skill set in there. I would never say absolutely no eating out/ordering in because that’s just cruel, but I will be reducing for sure.

3)

Practice gratitude every day. This is a huge one for me that I started in 2021 but want to really continue to do throughout 2022. I will write down three things I’m grateful for every day. I use The Five Minute Journal by Intelligent Change. It’s sooo good – highly recommend for anyone else looking to practice gratitude.

4)

Grow my Instagram & TikTok following to 5,000. I’m sure some people may look at this and laugh, but it’s a number that I would be THRILLED with. I want 5,000 true, authentic humans to follow and engage with my content on both platforms and are just as excited about my posts and videos as I am.

5)

Travel to Greece. (If COVID leaves us all alone) This has been on my bucket list for far too long. It’s starting to get dusty just sitting there on that list. Money has always been a big factor in this because when I go, I want to do it right and do it how I want. But 2022 is the year… saving starts NOW.

6)

Read one book every two months. I used to read a lot when I was younger but have recently really fallen out of it. Unfortunately I find it much easier to grab my phone and scroll for entertainment versus grabbing a book. I want to jump back into it and feel that a book every other month is totally doable. Send me any good book recos!

7)

Have a date night once a week. I know that COVID has really put a damper on things but I want to have my date nights with my bf back. I really miss them. I mean… every night is kind of like date night because we are locked in the apartment with nowhere to go, but I really want to put an emphasis on date nights and actually have fun with it. Even if it’s just making dinner together or having a drink!

8)

Attend a brand event. I want to work closely with a brand that I love and attend one of their in-person events. Developing a meaningful brand partnership like this is a total dream of mine and will be a pinch me moment when it comes to fruition.

9)

Donate to something I’m passionate about. I want to become more involved in charities this year. It’s something I think we often neglect due to money or other reasons, but I want this to become a priority for me this year. I think it’s super important and is something I’m really looking forward to.

10)

Extend my brand to another platform. This is a REALLY scary one for me and one that I haven’t fully decided on what direction I will take yet. But… I’m thinking of starting a YouTube channel or something similar. I would love another outlet to share content with my community and express my creativity. Stay tuned….

That’s it for my goals for this year! Reading the list back is definitely overwhelming and seems impossible, but I plan to take it slow and just see where this year takes me. I have a good feeling about this year.

Goal-setting can be difficult and scary, trust me.. I know. I’ve learned that it’s a healthy exercise and is meant to motivate you for the future. So here’s to motivation, healthy habits, and taking care of yourself this year.

Happy 2022, friends!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love!
