Styled 4 Ways Pt.4
Styled 4 Ways Pt.4
The piece that has taken us right back to the early 2000s - the baggy pants.
Welcome back to part four of my styling series, Styled 4 Ways! It has been a hot minute since we’ve done this series. For those of you that have been following along with my weekly blog posts or on social media, would know that I loveeeee a good versatile piece of clothing. It’s just WAY cooler to buy a nice piece that you can style multiple ways and therefore will get more wear out of versus buying a piece you’ll wear once and potentially pitch next season. Cooler for the environment, cooler for your wardrobe, and cooler for your wallet. Amirite?
The piece I’m highlighting this week is absolutely, without a doubt one of 2022’s hottest trends – the baggy pants. Whether they are trousers, parachute pants, cargos, or jeans… the baggier the pants, the better. You’ve definitely seen celebs like Bella Hadid, Zendaya, Dua Lipa, and Hailey Bieber rocking this style of pants recently and it’s time that we do the same, friends!
My favourite part of the baggy pants trend?? They’re baggy! Who doesn’t love baggy clothing? Baggy = comfort. Duhhhhh. I know some of you may be thinking this look is not for you… but give me a chance to show you just how versatile this piece is and why you should consider adding it to your wardrobe if it’s not already there.
Take a look at some ways I have been & will continue to be styling my baggy pants this summer:
(Click to play videos!)
- With a tiny top– I would say this is probably the most common way you have and will be seeing the baggy pants styled this summer. Since the pants are big and baggy, it’s nice to let the pants do the talking and be the focus of the look. By wearing a tiny tank top, cropped top, or little white tee 😏, it will help to even out the bulkiness of the pants.
- With a bathing suit – Okay I was hesitant on this pairing too but HOW CUTE?! Similar to the tiny top styling, the bikini top works the same way by contrasting with little on top and big on the bottom. I think this is such a chic cover up and such a fun look to wear to the beach or a pool party. The ultimate cool girl if you ask me!
- With a button down – Another chic way to style baggy pants is with an oversized button down. I mean a white button down is such a classic and goes with just about anything so it comes as no surprise that it pairs nicely with baggy pants too. Paired with a white tank or tube top and matching sandals gives that coastal grandma look which is such a freakin’ VIBE this summer.
- With a baggy tee – This styling just screams street style to me. I’m obsessed with the baggy on baggy look. It almost gives off that look like you stole your boyfriend’s clothes and I’m totally here for it. There truly is nothing more comfortable than a baggy t-shirt and baggy pants… perfect for a summer BBQ where you know you want to mow down on all the potato salad and feel comfortable doing it.
These are just four ways to style baggy pants this summer, but there are soooo many other fun ways. I hope at the very least I have opened your eyes to just how versatile this piece can be. C’mon… you know you wanna give them a try!
Can’t wait to see how you all style yours this summer!
Until next time…
Peace & love!
