15 Facts About Me

15 Facts About Me

You know the blog, but do you know the blogger?

Now, I know that this may not be the MOST interesting blog topic I’ve ever written. But since I started my blog back in September 2020 (almost a year!!!), I’ve written a lot about my thoughts, ideas, opinions, and life, but have failed to share about the blogger behind the screen – moi! I’ve also had a lot of new friends follow along on my weekly blog shenanigans (hi & thank you!) and figured it was time that I reintroduce myself and share some fun facts about little old me. Because there’s no blog without the blogger, riiiiight?

Buckle up, this will be crazy. JK – I truly am a grandma at heart. Here are 15 facts about me:

1)

I grew up in the United States – California & Idaho to be exact. I was technically born in Canada but my parents were living in the States, intentionally came home over Christmas holidays so I was born here, and my first time on a plane back home to California was when I was only three weeks old. My family moved back to Canada when I was 10 years old.

2)

I have three brothers and am the only girl! I am the second oldest amongst my siblings – I have one older brother and two younger brothers. I often get asked if I wish I had a sister.. The answer is absolutely not. Brothers are where it’s at.

3)

I have a BA from the University of Guelph with a major in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and a minor in Political Science. Did I use this degree in any way, shape, or form? Nope, I did not. But I did go on to do a post-graduate program at Humber College in Event Management, which is what led me to a career in events.

4)

I used to compete competitively in figure skating and dance. I figure skated both in singles and synchro for almost 10 years – I literally LIVED at the rink. A huge portion of my childhood was dedicated to the sport and I believe it taught me a lot about dedication and team dynamics. I only competed in dance competitively for two years but I loved it so much, especially jazz and ballet.

5)

The show Friends is simply the best show ever created. I would consider myself a Friends megafan and I say that with zero shame. I also am on team “we were NOT on a break” for the record.

6)

I am a proud fur mama! Perhaps obsessed is a better word?? My bf & I adopted a rescue dog in February 2020 from the OSPCA. We had always wanted to adopt a dog and when we saw Wilson and heard his story, it was a no brainer. I love my Willy more than anything.

7)

I am a pescatarian and have been for four years now. It started as a test to see if I could go without it, and I soon realized that I didn’t miss it like I thought I would. I am a HUGE animal lover and this lifestyle choice makes me feel better.

8)

I recently learned how to downhill ski and it’s soooo much fun. Not sure why I waited all these years tbh. I now have something to look forward to in the winter months in Canada!

9)

A little white tee is my forever go-to and favourite look of all time. I love the simplicity and versatility of a white tee, but also find it to be such a statement at the same time. This is where my inspiration for the name of my blog came from – little white tees. The little came from my last name.

10)

I know that I am meant to travel in my life. Travelling is a deep passion of mine, and sadly one that I haven’t been able to entertain in quite some time due to COVID. I feel the most free when I am travelling. My travel bucket list is miles long, but I have been lucky enough to travel to some pretty amazing places in the world like Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Kenya, Barcelona, Honduras, and Paris to name a few.

11)

I am obsessed with everything skincare related. When COVID first started, I made a goal for myself to take better care of my skin not knowing that I would actually become really passionate about it. I’m always on the lookout for the cool, new products to try.

12)

Fashion has always been my number one passion for as long as I can remember. Perhaps because I was the only girl in my family, my mom spoiled me rotten with shopping trips (that’s why she’s my bff) AND I didn’t have to share with anyone. I’m constantly researching and creating outfits and looks for myself, and also gaining inspiration from the fashion industry. I don’t know who I would be without fashion.

13)

My dad is most definitely my biggest inspiration. He not only has an impressive career and resume, but he has taught me to follow my heart no matter where that takes me. Even if it means taking the route that doesn’t make you the most money, but is the route that makes you the most happy.

14)

I love love love music. I will basically listen to anything, especially live music. If being a singer didn’t require you to have a good singing voice, that would 100% be my career. No ifs, ands, or buts.

15)

In Canada, I grew up in a small town in Muskoka. I am sooo thankful that I grew up where I did. Even after travelling around the world, I still think Muskoka is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. There’s no place like home!

Well, that’s me in a nutshell. Crazy, right?? I did warn you. I hope this gives you a little bit more insight into me and my life. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk!!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love!
