Real Life Green Goblin

Real Life Green Goblin

Soooooo is anyone else loving green these days or is it just me?

I’m seriously OBSESSED with green this year. During quarantine/physical distancing, I’m of course online shopping every single day. Is this normal? Asking for a friend… It’s like every time I’m shopping and I see that an item comes in green, I’m like “great, add to cart”. I’m not particular about it either, I love green in every shade it has to offer – olive, pine, mint, sage, army, seaweed, pistachio, moss, emerald, shamrock, lime, and alllll the rest. I feel like green is the new yellow, anyone else with me?

I know what you’re thinking… but fall is around the corner. First of all, summer TECHNICALLY goes until September 22nd, therefore I will be living out those final summer days to their fullest extent (even if it is 15 degrees outside). And second of all, I don’t think we need to stop with the green going into the fall season. There is no time limit on adding greeny freshness into our wardrobes. I think green is one of those colours that just looks good on everyone. It’s also one of those colours that can be worn all year round which is a bonus in my eyes (depending on shade, of course). Perhaps us Canadian folks can leave lime green behind with the summer months instead of dragging it with us through the treacherous winter, but the rest of the shades are coming with us into fall!

It was hard to pick what green pieces I wanted to share with you, but every time I went through my closet these pieces just kept jumping into my arms.

You can just call me the Green Goblin, I’m okay with it. Honestly, he’s not far off from what I look like when I’m hangry so it works in more ways than one!! Back to green – sometimes when introducing a new colour into your wardrobe it is easiest to start small with accessories such as shoes, bags, or hair clips and work your way up. Once you feel comfortable with the coloured accessories and are ready to take the next step, then upgrade to a cute green tank or settle green pants. You won’t regret it.

Green is great because for the most part, it pairs well with lots of colours. It looks good with jeans, black, navy, and white, or if you’re feeling more on the risqué side… purple, blue, or yellow. Colours I would avoid pairing with green are pink (too watermelon-y) and grey (too earthy). Other than that, you’re pretty safe with green.

It’s one of those colours that I think people are intimidated by – don’t be! I was scared of it for a long time too before I took that leap of faith. Ugh, green is just SO good right now. Happy green shopping, y’all!!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love!
