Fall Footwear Trends

Fall Footwear Trends

Arguably the best footwear of the year! 8 shoes you need this season to enhance all your favourite fall fits.

It’s been a couple weeks, guys! Life has just been happening and a little break was needed… but we back, baby! So I needed my first blog back to be something we all love, appreciate, and can relate to. The first thing that comes to mind for me is shoes! Duh. Who doesn’t love footwear?? Especially fall footwear – the most drool-worthy footwear of the year.

Fall is a unique time of year for footwear fashion because it’s too cold to wear open-toed shoes, but too warm to wear a true winter boot. To me, fall is just that perfect sweet spot to wear your fav shoes without the stress of getting them soaked or covered in salt stains. There are some seriously FAB footwear trends this fall that you will not only want, but you will neeeeeeeed. Let’s go through them together!

Mary Janes

The first footwear trend that I’ve been seeing everywhere this fall season are Mary Janes. Everything and anything “preppy” is super in style right now so the Mary Janes fit perfectly into that theme. They give off such a vintage look which we love, and are SO CUTE styled with socks and a mini skirt or dress. Whether you get them with a bit of a heel or in more of a flat, you truly can’t go wrong with Mary Janes this year.

Western Boots

Yeeeeehaw! Western style boots have been on trend for a couple years now and I’m happy to say that they aren’t going anywhere this fall season. There’s something about a cowboy boot in the fall that just feels right. Know what I mean? Paired with baggy jeans and a blazer or a silk midi dress and a knit sweater, western boots are the main character.

Slippers

If you haven’t seen the slipper trend happening this fall, I’m sorry to say but you’ve been sleeping under a rock. Time to get out! Slippers are one of the hottest trends this fall season, especially the UGG slippers. They’re everywhereeeee. This may be a hard concept for older generations to understand, but I’m telling you it’s so good! I’m here to tell you that you in fact CAN wear your slippers out of the house. It kind of gives that model off duty look which is so cool. Styled with wide leg jeans and a crew neck sweater… *chef’s kiss*.

Classic Sneakers

If you don’t have a good, comfortable pair of classic sneakers, please go out and get a pair. Not only will your feet be so happy with you for providing them with comfort, but they are so good to pair with fall outfits. Brands like New Balance, ASICS, and Adidas have mastered the dad shoe that we all know and love. A good dad sneaker, a pair of straight leg jeans, and an oversized knit sweater is my go-to fall fit. It’s easy, effortless, and a little bit 90s girl, which who doesn’t love that??

Loafers

I’ve talked about loafers before, but they are the shoe of 2022. They are probably one of the most versatile pairs of shoes you can have but make such a statement at the same time. You can rock loafers with a dress, jeans, mini skirt, or trousers any time of year, not just in the fall. I personally gravitate towards a good chunky-soled loafer paired with white socks. There is just nothing better.

Knee High Boots

For the past few years, short booties were the go-to boot. Well, say buh-bye to those because their sexier, trendier, and better big sister, the knee high boot, is where it’s at. Knee high boots are back and better than ever. Whether they are platform boots, lug sole boots, second skin boots, or square-toed boots, if they reach your knee then they are totally in. I saw sooo many different looks during fashion month with knee high boots and it just opened my mind to all the possibilities with this style of boot. Trust me, you need them.

Ballet Flats

I know, I know. This is still a little bit of a hard one for me to get on board with because I didn’t really like the ballet flat trend the first time it went around in my lifetime. Butttt with that being said, it’s slowly starting to grow on me. Again, fashion month really opened my eyes to some seriously cute and chic ways to style ballet flats this season. I love the look of flats paired with stirrup leggings, leg warmers, and straight leg jeans.

Clogs

Clogs, clogs, clogs. Probably the second most popular shoe of the season after loafers. I’m sure you’ve all seen the viral Boston Clogs by Birkenstock that are sold out absolutely everywhere. Still sad I didn’t get my hands on a pair tbh. Clogs come in and out of style but they are ON FIRE this fall season. If you like the idea of the slipper trend but can’t get over the idea that you would be wearing your slippers out of the house, then the clog trend may be for you! It gives off a very similar and effortless look but may be considered more “appropriate” to wear around.

Ugh, I could go on and on about footwear all day so I will do y’all a favour and stop myself here. But seriously, how SWEET are the shoe trends this season? I’m in love. I can’t wait to put together more fall looks with these different style of shoes. I hope this has inspired you to rock your footwear this fall season!

Because your outfit needs to be grounded by something, right??

Until next time…

Peace & love!
