Brows speak louder than words.

Eyebrows – by far one of the most noticeable and nit-picky features on the face. I’m definitely the biggest critic of my own brows, but that’s because I’ve been so mean to them in the past. This is NOT a blog about how I think my brows are on fleek and how yours can be on fleek too. Instead, this blog is about some of the products I use and love that have gotten me to a place where I’m finally happy with my brows. Because let me tell you… I have not always been happy with my brows. Let’s start with a little background story.

I’ve been on quite the brow journey. For starters, I grew up in the early 2000s so I of course went through the same phase that every other girl did by making my brows as skinny as I possibly could. Take Gwen Stefani’s picture below as a reference. This honestly should have been illegal but that’s a whole other story. Then, I seemed to have one bad wax job after another. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted or what I should be asking for, yet continued to keep getting them waxed regularly. Smart, Tay. And then a tragedy happened. I went to get my brows waxed and the aesthetician legitimately took off half my eyebrow on each side…. I screamed. It was not pretty.

It wasn’t long after that incident that the big, fluffy brow trend came along. I sadly could not participate. I became soooo insecure about my brows that I wouldn’t allow myself to see people or take photos without them being “presentable”. I made a decision after this appointment to not let anyone touch my eyebrows for a very long time, three years to be exact. Flash forward to today and you could say that I’m a little bit of a freak with my brows. I’m very particular on who can touch them, and oftentimes I would rather be the one to do them over anyone else. PTSD perhaps??

Here are some amazing brow products that I use for makeup, as well as for hair regrowth:

These are the products that have changed the brow game for me. My brows are by no means perfect, but I feel SO much better and so much happier with where they are at now. It may sound dramatic but it’s the only hair on my face so I want it to look good, okay?! Because let me tell you… if I had a dollar for everytime I’ve heard my bf complain about his facial hair…. $$$$$$$$$$.

Here’s to happy, hairy and healthy brows!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love!
