NYE 2021 Looks 🍾

NYE 2021 Looks 🍾

BUH-BYE 2020! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Holy hell, what a year 2020 has been. I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say that it’s about time we put 2020 in the past. To put it lightly, this year sucked. There has been anxiety, heartache, pain, suffering, sadness, and hurt. Coronavirus is something that has absolutely rocked our world and will leave lasting marks on us forever and ever. It’s absolutely devastating. There really aren’t words for how sad and unpredictable 2020 was.

As hard as this year has been, I’ve tried really hard to stay optimistic and find the things I’m most grateful for and instead put my focus into that. This year has made me realize that first and foremost, family and friends are absolutely EVERYTHING. They are the only thing that matters in my world. Secondly, I learned that there are actually some low key fun things to do around the house if you’re bored, like playing Animal Crossing, watching YouTube videos of cool places you want to travel, or making a fort in your living room with blankets and sheets (don’t knock it till you try it). Lastly, I learned that life is short so do whatever it is that YOU want. Find your passion and run with it. That’s so important.

This year has also brought me my blog! I’m so grateful that I finally had the time this year to start up this very blog you’re currently reading. Little White Tees is something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember but never had the time or guts to do it. Since the world was already upside down, I thought it was the perfect time to throw my little creative corner into the big world wide web… because why the hell not! So thank you for following along. 😊

New Years is a time that I usually take to reflect on the year that’s now behind me and of course get all dressed up and have fun. Just like everything else this year, my activities/festivities may not look the same as they have in years past, but you bet your ass I’m still going to have fun with my outfits. And you should too! Even if you are just sitting on the couch watching the countdown on TV or having a Zoom party with friends. Check out my NYE outfit ideas below.

NYE is the time to bring out all of your sparkles, velour, metallics, vegan leather, glitter, velvet, and blacks. I’m not a huge sparkle or glitter person myself, but for some reason on NYE I all of a sudden need it. The girly girl in me comes out and I search high and low for it. I love pairing the glitz and glam with black staples to really make it pop. For example, take a plain black oversized blazer – cute, but needs more FUN for New Years. Add a glitter-trouser, black cropped tank, and chunky black boots… now you’re ready for the night!

Believe it or not, NYE is surprisingly not one of my fav holidays. I of course love getting together with friends and dressing up, but I’ve never had a solid New Years. There always seems to be stress associated with getting into the bars, long lines, losing friends, it’s freezing outside, the list goes on. I’m much more of a rent-a-cabin-with-close-friends-and-sing-and-dance-all-night. That’s much more my vibe. I still totally dress up for this type of New Years too, don’t worry. But this year, since I’m soooo beyond into sweats right now and I ain’t going anywhere, I’m 100% rocking a head-to-toe velour tracksuit while drinking wine and doing some self-care. A very similar theme to what I’ve been doing all of 2020… might as well stay true to the very end!

I’m wishing everyone a safe, healthy, happy, and stylish New Year! Cheers to 2020 being in our past and to 2021 looking brighter and more exciting than ever. 🥂

Until next hump day (in 2021!)…

Peace & love!
