It’s Fall Y’all 🍂

It’s Fall Y’all 🍂

I didn’t choose the sweater weather life, it chose me.

You knew it was coming. Apple picking, pumpkin spice lattes, cozy blankets, fallen leaves, football, spooky movies, delicious pies, cuddling on the couch, vegetarian chili, pumpkin patches, scented candles, and decorations. Guys… it’s fall! My absolute favourite season and one that I wish would last MUCH longer than it does here in Canada. Fall is just the best. I mean what I’ve already listed are reasons as to why fall is the best season, but the number one reason I love fall so so much is the most obvious reason in my eyes – THE FASHION. 🙌

My favourite wardrobe is a fall wardrobe. We’re talking sweaters, trousers, turtle necks, booties, toques, high boots, denim, plaid, cozy socks, hoodies, coats and soooo much more. If you read this list and it didn’t cause any sort of internal excitement for you, then I don’t trust you. This wardrobe is everythinggggg.  You know how good fall fashion is whether you want to admit it or not. And now that the fall season is upon us, I thought y’all might want to see what I’ll be wearing this season.

I REALLY struggled when trying to decide which outfits I wanted to showcase for this particular blog. Ask my boyfriend, he’s the poor soul that had to deal with the aftermath of our bedroom (sorry babe). Since I struggled so hard, I decided to showcase double the amount of outfits than I normally do!! Yippee!

First things first – fall fashion has its own unique colour palette which I just absolutely LIVE for. I love to take full advantage of repping colours like beige, brown, rust, cinnamon, mustard, navy, olive, burgundy, cream, taupe, and black (which goes with every season). Then, fall fashion also has its own unique set of patterns that incorporate these colours such as all kinds of plaid, houndstooth, certain florals, and argyle, which I try to incorporate into my outfits as often as I can during fall because you sure as hell can’t wear argyle all year long, amirite? Personal opinion. And finally, fall fashion has a unique set of textures and fabrics that go along with it – corduroy, vegan leather, wool, flannel, patent leather, cashmere, and suede. SO GOOD.

Some of my fav pieces that I will probably be overwearing this season are blazers, vegan leather trousers, sweater vests, wide leg jeans, turtlenecks, oxfords, trench coats, cardigans, shoulder pads, and hats of all kinds. The fun thing about styling outfits in the fall is that you can mix and match a lot of your outfits. For example, take a pair of cords – you can pair it with a black turtleneck, a denim jacket, an argyle sweater vest, a wool knit sweater, or an oversized poplin shirt and all will look 🔥. You can also mix colours and patterns that you maybe thought would never work but they for some reason work this time of year. Gotta love a season that offers versatility!

As you may know, I’m the biggest fan of comfort in what I wear and fall is the season that embraces this to the fullest extent. It just screams curl-up-on-a-couch-and-cuddle-with-a-blanket-while-watching-a-cheesy-movie-and-watch-the-leaves-fall vibes. Add a chai tea latte from Starbucks and we have ourselves a little party! Right, mom? (It’s our fav) Being comfortable AND fashionable is seriously a win-win situation all around. Especially when dabbling into a couple more pies than you usually do…

One of my biggest fashion inspos for fall style has got to be Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. Anyone else?? I can’t be the only one. I mean commmmmon… the plaid layered on top of plaid layered on top of plaid, the tights and boots, the iconic headbands. I feel like I often find myself trying to embrace Blair’s fall style and maybe not completely achieving but still loving every second of it. Only thing missing is Chuck as my accessory. Blair is the queen of fall fashion!

I know the fall season is short, but my god is it ever mighty. It may not be smart but I don’t intend to stop shopping for fall clothing anytime soon… It’s like there is a gravitational pull that I just can’t resist and all of a sudden my online cart turned into a package on route to my apartment. I can’t help it. Buuuut I do encourage y’all to enjoy fall and enjoy fall fashion especially! It’s fun, it’s festive, and it’s freakin’ awesome.

Happy fall shopping, friends!

Until next hump day…

Peace & love
