My Forever Fashion Icons Pt.3
My Forever Fashion Icons Pt.3
Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green - The ultimate 90s style muse.
I mean… I feel like I could just end the blog here and drop the mic. But don’t worry, I won’t do that to you because I know when you read that excerpt you got excited too. Welcome back to Part 3 of my Forever Fashion Icons series, where I showcase my fav individuals with the best style of all time.
With the Friends Reunion right around the corner (TOMORROW), I knew it was time to live out my Rachel Green dreams. Guys, my excitement for this episode is on another level. I’m excited, I’m nervous, I’m sad, I’m happy…I’m not crying… 😭
The statement I’m about to say resonates with every single 90s (and beyond) baby, and if they disagree they are lying straight to your face – Rachel Green is the ultimate fashionista of the 90s. Her wardrobe was soooo beyond iconic and trend-setting that it is still goals today. Everything from the overalls, to the mini skirts, to the graphic tees, to the button downs, to the white runners, and of course the hairstyles – it’s all just so so so good.
I would definitely consider myself a Friends mega fan and basically watch the series whenever I have downtime or am bored, which during quarantine has been quite a lot. Rachel Green is and always will be very high on my fashion icon list. Green’s style is typically quite casual and laid back, but she knew when to mix in a good power suit, pop of colour, sexy dress, or fun print.
Since my obsession is real, I tried to recreate some of the most iconic Rachel Green outfits from Friends. l I already know she wins, but a girl can try okay!
Rachel Green could rock literally anything and look bomb. I love when Green gets her office job at Bloomingdale’s and then eventually Ralph Lauren and dresses up in dresses, skirts, and blazers. So chic! I also love her looks when she’s just casually meeting up for coffee at Central Perk with the friends – jeans, turtlenecks, and booties. But my all time fav vibe has to be her straight up 90s style in the first couple seasons. I drool 🤤.
I love the style of the entire cast from Friends. In fact, there is controversy to this day on whether Monica Geller actually had a better style than Rachel Green. Don’t get me wrong, Monica had some BADASS looks (hello classic red spaghetti tank & high-waisted Levis) and is definitely a close second, but Rachel Green is just so 90s and um well… she’s Rachel Green. Nothing more to be said on that front.
I could go on and on about Rachel Green’s style and how obsessed I truly am, but for now I’m going to end this blog post with a question – were they on a break?!?!?!
Until next hump day…
Peace & love!
