Holiday Attire🎄
What to wear for the brightest, merriest, and best holiday of the year!
Tis’ the freakin’ season, my friends. It’s the most wonderful time of the year… 10 more days till Christmas!!!! 🎅 To say I’m excited is an understatement. I mean, who doesn’t love the holidays? There’s just so much to love – the Hallmark Christmas movies, the baking, the cozy fires, the gingerbread houses, the hecticness, the decorations, the gift giving, the togetherness, the food, the traditions, the love, and of course, the fashion. Surprise, surprise.
The holidays come with the best fashion – chunky turtlenecks, dark denim, puffer jackets, bright reds, wool socks, christmas plaid, forest greens, sweet dresses, and cute ass pjs. I feel like there is always A LOT of pressure to put together a good holiday outfit. I definitely feel that pressure every year. Plus, there are so many different holiday activities that require different types of looks that it can become very overwhelming. But I’m here to help!
I’ve put together three different looks that are very versatile and absolutely scream “I love the holidays”:
One of the most important rules when dressing for the holidays is comfort. There’s nothing worse than trying to be cute and fun and in the festive mood but you’re uncomfortable AF. That’s just not fun for anyone. So, I always recommend going with the classic knit turtleneck sweater with a good pair of jeans. This is probably the most versatile outfit for not just the holidays, but any event in the winter season really. To make the look more holiday-esque, go with a bright red or a fair isle pattern sweater. You can’t go wrong with adding some chic loafers, an oversized wool coat, and a cute handbag. This is the perfect look for holiday shopping with friends, cutting down your Christmas tree, or getting together with family.
If you need to dress it up a little bit for a holiday party or Christmas dinner, a blazer dress is the way to go. Not only are they comfortable and SUPER chic, but they are practical and so easy to wear. You can always play into the holiday colours and patterns, or you can keep it simple and just go black. There are so many cool blazer dresses out there too, some with cutouts, some with sparkles, and some with ties. All options are fireeee and totally fit the holiday theme. I would add some nice tall black boots and a festive headband to tie the whole look together.
Finally, it’s important to have an outfit for dressing it down as well. Because let’s be real, that’s the best part of the holidays… just taking it easy and relaxing. I love to rock a cropped knit sweater and a fun pair of sweatpants. Again, you can always go above and beyond by incorporating festive colours and graphics into the look or you can just keep it simple. The look isn’t complete without a good pair of slippers and your hair in a scrunchie on top of your head. This is 1000000% what I’ll be wearing when baking cookies, watching holiday movies, and even on Christmas morning.
Although the outfits are a crucial part of the holidays, the most important part is to sit back, relax, and enjoy. It is Christmas after all, HAVE FUN! Whether you’re celebrating with family or doing your own thing with friends, I wish you health, happiness, and great outfits in whatever you celebrate!
Happy holidays!
Until next hump day…
Peace & love!
