Fall-elujah! 🍂🧡🪵🧣☕️ 🎃 The best season of the year (in my opinion) is here and it’s in full swing. Other than the fact that summer is over, what’s not to love about fall? The cozy knit sweaters, the fires, the spooky movies, the PSLs, the boots, the football games, the scarves, the soups, the leaves, the fab jackets, the pumpkins – the everything! Fall seriously is the best and if you disagree, well then… that sucks. 

Fall fashion is just to DIE for. I actually drool over fall style all year long, not just when I can actually wear it. There’s just something about wearing a sick outfit and not having to cover it up with a down-filled parka, winter boots, and a toque to go outfit that is just sooo satisfying. Amirite? I love the colours, fabrics, and textures that fall fashion embraces and it’ll never get old to me. There’s tons of sweet fashion trends this season that I’ve included in this year’s fall outfit guide that will keep you both warm AND stylish.

Cargo Bottoms 📦 – A trend that has been hot all of 2022 continues into the fall season 🔥. Whether it be baggy cargo pants or a cargo mini or maxi skirt, it’s on trend. Cargo bottoms were super popular in the 90s but have made a return this year thanks to celebrity street style, but we’re not mad about it! Paired with an oversized blazer, a little white tee, and clogs is the perfect fall fit. 

UGGs 🐑 – If this is news to you, wake up!!!! UGGs are sooo in right now and you would have had to be sleeping under a rock if you didn’t already get this memo. I have to say this is probably my fav fall trend because my love for UGGs runs deep, I never really got over them when they were trendy years ago. You really can pair your UGGs with just about anything in the fall but I love the look of these boots with baggy denim, khakis, or leggings. 

Back-to-School Chic 🍎 – Class is in session! ✏️ This idea of “preppy” style has completely dominated the fall fashion lineup this year. Things like cardigans, button downs, loafers, sweater vests, plaid skirts, ballet flats, sheer tights, and blazers are all very much in. These can all be styled together for a complete “prep” look, or you can take pieces and mix & match your outfits with different styles which is also really cool and trendy.

Ultra Mini Skirt 👗- Another trending style that has been hot all of 2022 is the micro mini or ultra mini skirt. Different from summer where we were styling it with platform sandals, sneakers, or heels, the fall styling makes more sense with loafers and socks, sheer tights, or knee high boots. I like to pair my micro mini skirts with an oversized knit sweater or blazer on top for a contrast (and also to keep me warm!).

Equestrian 🐴 – Giddy up! Everyone is lovingggg the equestrian-inspired style this year. This has always been a personal fav style of mine for the fall because I think its so damn chic. Think cowboy boots, blazers, stirrup leggings, jeans tucked into boots, vegan leather gloves, riding style boots, V-neck sweaters, neck ties, and polo shirts. You basically want to look like you’re on your way to the barn to ride your horse – sooo good. Similar to the back-to-school chic style, you can go balls to the wall and do a full equestrian look, or take pieces and mix & match. 

Leg Warmers 🦵🏻- Did someone say the 80s are back??? YUP! You read that right, leg warmers are so totally in this fall. Realistically, I think it’s a cool trend to have living in Canada because it’s equally practical for the weather as it is stylish. I’ve seen the leg warmers styled with loafers and ballet flats for the fall and it very much gives ballerina off duty energy. The ex-ballerina in me is living for this trend. Love love love! 🩰

Denim-on-Denim 👖- You guys must know me and my deep passion for my Canadian tuxedo by now. I’m obsessed, I’ll admit it. I feel like it’s a healthy obsession though… I mean, c’mon! You seriously can’t ever go wrong with a denim-on-denim look. I’ve seen the Canadian tuxedo absolutely everywhere this fall and I’m loving it. It seems that the more denim you wear, the better. Denim jacket, denim pants, denim skirt, denim shirt… all of it!

Knee High Boots 👢- Knee high to the sky! ☁️ Say buy-bye to ankle booties and a big, tall hello to their sexier big sister, the knee high the boots. Tall boots are all the rave this fall season. They look so good paired with an ultra mini skirt, leather shorts, a maxi skirt, or a silk slip dress. Plus you just kind of feel like a boss in knee high boots… just sayin’!

Vegan Leather Everything 🌱 – We ADORE vegan leather over here, like so much. I would say of this list I put together, vegan leather is probably the hottest ticket item for this year’s fall fashion. Whether you just wear an oversized leather jacket or are dripping in head-to-toe vegan leather, you’re on trend sis. There are also so many different colours available in vegan leather it’s overwhelming. I personally love black, chocolate brown, dark green, navy, and beige for fall. 

Camel Tones 🐫 – One of the most popular colours to rock this fall is camel. I feel like it’s always kind of a popular colour in the fall but it’s really made its way to the top this season. I’ve been seeing more tonal looks with the camel paired with earthy colours or just more camel. It’s a super chic and easy way to create outfits without having to put much thought into it. It’s kind of nice to not have to think about your outfit too much every once in a while!
